Rachel + Tyler: A Reverent Wedding

How They Met

This reverent wedding story starts with the deeply rooted Lutheran faith of the bride and groom. With the help of divine guidance and modern technology, Rachel and Tyler found each other online.

He knew from her user name (a reference to the Lutheran theme of saints and sinners) that they needed to connect.

And so the match (and history) was made.

DIY Wedding Details

Rachel and Tyler committed to each other in marriage at a reverent wedding service on June 22, a rainy Saturday afternoon at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Denver.

The wedding featured many beautiful do-it-yourself touches throughout the ceremony and reception. The color palette of peach and lavender brought a sunny and warm summer feeling to the day. The bride’s mother, Laura, sewed the peach-colored junior bride’s maids’ dresses.

Cozy Barn Reception

At the barn reception held at the pastor’s home, the groom’s Mom, Marcia, decorated with the same color scheme. The reception shimmered with strings of twinkle lights hanging from the rafters and featured walls draped with fabric and strands of purple beads. Each table contained tea light votives, a stack of favorite books tied with tulle ribbons, and sprinklings of dried lavender between.

Everyone kept dry inside the cozy space enjoying slices of pizza, cheesecake, and the music of the DJ for a night of dancing. The groom’s father and mother started the event with a blessing. Toasts from the bride’s father, best man Jordan, and maid of honor Ellery, showed deep feelings and well-wishes for the couple.

“We’ve Got This”

Thinking back on the event, the words of pastor Jared’s sermon come to mind. Marriage is hard, a lot of work, and something most people tend to shy away from, avoiding commitment. However, Rachel and Tyler face their new lives bravely and without fear. As the inscription inside Tyler’s ring states, “We’ve got this.”

Congratulations, Rachel & Tyler. Wishing you happiness today and in the years ahead!
